About Female Business Angels Podcast
There are countless podcasts featuring startup founders (male and female), tech and VC insider stories, news and gossip. However, none of them highlight specifically female business angels and investors.
Oftentimes women investors are scouting, mentoring and supporting founding teams long before they get on the radar of institutional VCs or public money funds. Angel investors are the first believers in founders, their teams and their execution. Frequently they are the first ones to support entrepreneurs, both emotionally and financially, leveraging their experience and network to help them get their idea off the ground.
Only 11% of all angel investors in Europe are female. Not surprisingly less than 10% of female led European startups receive funding from the VCs at a slightly later stage.
Female Business Angels Podcast wants to move this statistics towards 50% and hope that our podcast will inspire more women to get involved with early stage startups.
In November 2021, Founderland was named one of 34 selected organisations out of 8000 applications globally to receive funds from the $25 million philanthropy call from Google.org’s Impact Challenge for Women and Girls.
Less than 0.5% of venture capital goes to women of colour founders, year over year. Founderland is committed to debunk the myth that there is a “pipeline problem”. They bring founders, allies and investors together to get more diverse, sustainable and scalable businesses funded, by fostering a peer community of founders, offer educational programming on fundraising, and connect their member founders with capital.
